A prayer with HUGE power

11/01/2011

This is a HUGE Thank you to my Girlfriends who share the energy and spirit gift with me. There should be more included in this email, but I don’t have their email addresses: Tara, Connie and Kyle. If I did wrong by including you in what you are about to read, I apologize. But when I need help from my friends, it’s you guys I call upon!

I was having a conversation with my friend Jody a couple of weeks ago. I was struggling with my life and the needs of everyone else in my life that I love and was wondering how there could be enough to go around. She said to visualize all my good friends together. After this converations with Jody, I found a good seat on a curb on the grounds where I work overlooking a beautiful ravine as the fall colors were coming in to full bloom. Jody said gather your friends together, so I began gathering my friends together. I began visualizing all of us in a circle . . . I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to ask for once I got you all there, but since I’d been having trouble visualizing for months, I figured I had time to work on that . . . the challenge was getting you all there! Then I got you there, but couldn’t connect us together. OK, so I got frustrated!

I talked to Jody again earlier this week and found out that the next day Makayla was going to be given the final prognosis of the tumor in her arm. For those who may be confused right now, Makayla is Jody’s 3 year old Granddaughter who was diagnosed with cancer last June and I solicited you all to joing her Facebook Page to Pay it Forward for Makayla! So after talking to Jody, I re-charged all the stones in Makayla’s prayer grid . . . and went to relax so I could begin concentrating on bringing all of us together. On this night, I knew Makayla needed the prayers and the energy, but I knew Billy did too, so I put him in the middle of the circle with Makayla . . . what could it hurt, right? I concentrated so hard my head hurt. I concentrated so hard with energy and all the Reiki Linda taught me . . . that the energy got so hot . . . so hot Scandal and Tucker had to leave the room! Everyone came together . . . the circle was formed . . . we all held hands and together we danced, we prayed, we gave Thanks and most importantly, we had hope! From myself clockwise . . . it was Me, Carla, Stacy (and Sam), Tara, Kylie, Mel, Fran, Kelly, Jody, Linda, and Connie. 11 Beautiful women held hands together. Billy and Makayla played and laughed in the middle. You all don’t know each other, but you are connected to me. This circle of women danced and prayed. We Prayed for healing, prosperity, love and friendship.

I woke up the next morning so dang tired I could hardly think. Jody called me on my way home from work that next day. Makayala’s tumor was pronounced ‘Dead in the Body’! No surgery is necessary. There was no sign of cancer in her lymph nodes and the tumor that was in her arm no longer carried any life to it! That’s what I needed to hear that day. That the power of prayer and good energy can still produce miracles!!

So, I had to share this with you because it’s another frame of reference for the power of prayer, good energy, spirit and most importantly . . LOVE! I know that I would not be who I am today if it weren’t for YOU! I chose YOU to be in this circle to help me with my struggles. We are just one small circle of friends, but obviously a pretty mighty one! So I just wanted to say thank you.

In Love and Light!

Socrates Case Study – Cancer no longer evident

09/27/2011

The doctor told me “Whatever you are doing, keep doing it because it’s working”.

History: Socrates – A mini schnauzer white, 12 lbs, 5 years old. Lost a lot of weight from Lymphoma. Diagnosed end of June. Liver, Spleen Gastro tract, chest, generates fluids. On prednisone. Did two sessions of chemo – but was so sick. Forget it! Raw food with salmon and steamed Veggies.  Lost weight, but he is happy!

Dear Carla:  I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to give you an update on Socrates. I took him to his oncologist on Thursday and he was speechless. Just by looking at him and doctor was all smiles and told me that he looked healthy and great. He told me that if I had brought him into his office for the first time and told him Socrates had lymphoma, he would’ve not believed me. But he knew what Socrates had because he had diagnosed him. He said he had no explanation, but that maybe those two chemo sessions were more than enough for him. I was thinking more in the lines of miracle, energy work, love and change of diet. :)   Then he took him to do an ultra sound and blood work to check how he was doing in the inside. There are no tumors. Everything is gone. He was filled with tumors on his abdomen and now it’s back to normal. He said he only had a lymph node in his chest that was a bit larger than usual, but he was not concerned. The doctor was all smiles and could not believe how healthy Socrates was. My eyes were teary as it was the best news I had received concerning his health. He said he wanted to continue keeping an eye on him, and to  bring him in the next two months, in case this comes back.

The doctor told me “Whatever you are doing, keep doing it because it’s working”.

I wanted to thank you for your healing energy. I remember the night of the session he was playing with his toy while you were working on me, but as soon as you said “Bring Socrates forward” he left the toy on the side and laid his head on the carpet, and there he stayed until you finished. I will continue to love and care for Socrates as usual so this doesn’t come back.

Thanks again!!!

Jasmin the Calico Cat – Case Study

09/27/2011

I am so grateful for what Jasmin and I both received this evening..it was most powerful and exceeded my expectations in ways I can’t express~

Jasmin has been having anxiety issues and stays a lot under our bed since 4-5 months now. Jasmin is a very smart girl. She observes everything and everyone. I noticed when our oldest cat of 16 yrs. (who is now deceased since Aug. 27th 2011) was licking an area on her back then she would run and hide. I started giving Reiki to her which did help and our older cat seemed more calmer. On the other hand Jasmin was watching her do this a lot and so she started doing it for whatever reason. The old saying “copycat” is so true as it applied here with Jasmin. I would speak gently and try Reiki on Jasmin as it helped somewhat, then she would run and hide again under the bed like she thought something was on her back. It really bothered me to see her go through this as I always speak with my animals or any animal. Jasmin I guess felt she was being taught to do something like our older cat use to do, or felt there really was something wrong, so she to adopted this habit.

In tonite’s healing clinic with Carla and all the compassonate spirits, so much beautiful energy came through. When Carla mentioned the beautiful purple flowers chills ran through me. Jasmin after a few mintues walked in and sat down on the floor near me. I had been ill for almost 2 weeks including pulling my back last week. I too needed some healing work, but so wanted Jasmin to be healed from all of this anxiety she had been putting her tiny body through. What I felt, though, was lots of healing energy coming through to me as well. I realized my Power Animal and my compassonate spirits knew this so I was being sent healing energy along with Jasmin. I want to much for Jasmin to relax and be the calm kitty she once was. I miss her jumping up on our bed sitting next to me or in our lap for a gentle pat. I am so grateful for what Jasmin and I both received this evening..it was most powerful and exceeded my expectations in ways I can’t express~

Thank you kindly Carla and all the loving compassionate beings who came through~

Star the Husky – Case Study

09/27/2011

Qualified Healer: Barbara Kaufmann   barbk@athenet.net

Client: Star the Husky

During this journey the dog’s human companion Sandy came with me. We met my teacher at the bottom of a stone staircase where we had to step into a pool of water but it was thick water, the consistency of Mercury that didn’t make us wet.. We had to pour this water over ourselves like a baptism in order to enter the complex .

We came to a room with a healing chamber in the shape of a tetrahedron and we were accompanied by Archangel Gabriel. The chamber had healing lights in rotating colors: white, amethyst, pink and yellow.  Star became transparent and we saw her heart with 4 chambers and 3 of them were empty. Her 3 companions, other canines had died previously within a very short time of each other. The deaths had left 3 of her 4 heart chambers empty. We were asked to help full her heart chambers with love. Her body became transparent and we could see her heart change and become bigger and fuller and shinier.

We were asked to step into the tetrahedron ourselves and we were wrapped in some kind of tape that caused a cocoon-like darkness. We waited in silence in the dark for a healing and blessing. Archangel Gabriel wrapped his wings around us and did a blessing.

We then took a walk along a path in the forest in the full moon. A beam of light from the moon was sent down to “polish” Star, the dog. W e walked along the pines and to the lake where we all had to bathe and briefly submerge. This water was real and warm and sweet.

We were in a sweat lodge for a time and this too, was part of the healing. It was not terribly hot but it had a substance that infused the air and we were told to breathe it in—that it was medicine.

We walked back the path to the end where there was an outcropping of rock. On the largest rock face was an ancient symbol that we were told to place our hands on. We did, and we were transported back here.

This journey was the first time a client came with me, so I take it to be some kind of graduation to another level of work. As I described what I was seeing, doing and feeling, Sandy was getting similar images in her head. She said Star in OR moved around a lot during the journey.  ~Barbara.

Jackie – Case Study from Healing Clinic

09/02/2011

Jackie was accidentally let out of the house by a cable guy that entered her home…it frightened her and she ran out and ran away. She was found 2 days later and taken to at shelter where Katie was able to retrieve her. Ever since then she has acted very scared of everything.

Animal: Jackie 2.5 year old toy poodle

Healing Clinic Date: August 29, 2011

Qualified Healer: Claudia Kroll

Contact:
 yorkie5kroll2@cox.net
http://www.wix.com/gentlehearthealing/gentlehearthealingwithclaudia

Shamanic Healing:
Spirits did a power animal retrieval with 2 power animals; desert tortus and eagle.  Jackie continued to indicate her fears. Next spirits sent me on a soul retrieval with my power animal. Spirit reinfused all soul parts back into Jackie. Spirit requested I talk to Katie, the guardian and offered healing to her. She accepted verbally in OR and my power animal deer brought her to the healing circle. Spirit then sent me to the Crystal Cave for Emerald and Garnet. There I was also given a rose quartz for my pocket. I brought everything back and the emerald and garnet was infused into first Jackie then Katie. I was told to give Katie the rose quarts into her hand to keep, When I took it out of my pocket it was polished smooth and in the shape of a heart. I then witnessed my spirit teacher surround Jackie and Katie with sacred smoke to seal in the healing power.

Outcome/Feedback:
I would like to thank Claudia for the healing of Jackie on Monday’s Shamanic Animal Clinic. She did a healing on my dog Jackie. Jackie was 11 months old when she ran away. She was gone for 2 days. When she was returned she was a dog that was afraid of almost every thing. Claudia did a healing on Jackie which included giving her her power animals which she can call on when she is fearful. Also, she gave her two stones (emerald & garnet) which she can also use for protection. Jackie is a happier dog now. You can see it in her energy and how she interacts. Thank you to Claudia for the fantastic healing.

Beau – Case Study from Healing Clinic

09/02/2011

Animal: Beau -A Chinese Crested Powder Puff

Healing Clinic Date: August 29, 2011

Qualified Healer: Carla Meeske – Led the group healing ceremony

Contact:
carla@spirithealer.com
http://spirithealer.com

Request/Concern: Beau is lovely Chinese Crested Powder Puff.  He is a neutered male and weighs about 14 pounds.  He is about 4 years old and was rescued from a horrible puppy mill – no socialization whatsoever when he came to rescue.  As a result, he had MANY behavioral issues – most have been resolved over the past few years; however, his fear of humans (outside of his immediate family) is the remaining issue.

Shamanic Healing: For the Group Ceremony, we all entered the dimension of Spirit and formed a circle with fire in the center. We called in many layers and levels of Compassionate Spirits until the Power was palpable. Going around the circle, each person stated a request for their animal, and we immediately asked the Spirits to gift that animal Power and Healing. I shared out loud what I personally witnessed. Beau was one of these animals, and I can’t recall exactly what the Spirits did for him! And I am sure that there was much more happening than I reported, as I was just one witness to a very large Spirit event.

Outcome/Feedback:  When I arrived home after the healing (I was at my office and he was home at the time), Beau was extra exuberant!  He even slept through the night – a first in a long time.  Since the healing, he has been more confident and radiant!!  You did great!  Thanks so much!! Thanks Carla.  Last night was great.  love it all!!  XOXOXO

SpiritHealer School or ASN?

08/19/2011

Hi Carla -What is the difference between taking the ASN shamanism classes, or the SpiritHealer School classes?  Thanks

In answer to your question about taking my Shamanic Training webinars through ASN or though my school, SpiritHealer School of Shamanism – there is no difference to you! ASN markets my classes, plain and simple. I taught my distance classes through ASN for many years.  Last year I decided to build out my own school as well. But I didn’t want to leave ASN. So ASN now markets the first 6 SpiritHealer School classes, and gives students ASN credit. If they finish other ASN requirements they can receive an ASN Certificate of Program Completion with these 6 class. No matter who you register with, you will receive SpiritHealer Credit for every class you take, and you will be a SpiritHealer student.

When you finish the full SpiritHealer School program of 9 classes and participation in the Healing Clinic, you will get your SpiritHealer Certification of Training. I know it is confusing, and ASN and I are trying to find a way of making things clearer. But no matter!  You can take the classes through ASN or through me, and you will receive the same attention, respect and love from me.

Honor to the Students!

07/28/2011

At long last I have chosen to offer a Certificate of Training in Shamanism that reflects my shamanic students INCREDIBLE DEDICATION AND EFFORT.  They are following their dream.  They connect directly with wise compassionate spirits to learn the mysteries of the universe.  They help animals who can’t find recourse anywhere else. They work hard, and they love every minute of it.

Every week these brilliant people are in the class, doing deep and sometimes challenging shamanic journeys. They face their fears. They step through portals into the unknown. The laugh, they cry, and they learn SO MUCH! It is amazing to me to witness  people entering the program a little timid and unsure, and after only a few months developing incredible personal power and confidence.

Of course a Certification Program is a serious undertaking. I have to be rigorous!  My people must develop strong  shamanic “chops” to handle the everyday and the unusual things that will come along. They must have proven experience working with all sort of animal situations.  They will! We have 9 months of weekly studies, with homework! We have the new Shamanic Healing Clinic where they will work in a powerful setting on all sorts of animals. And we have masterclasses and electives that will allow them to expand their vision even farther.

Now you can learn a lot of shamanism without every going so far as the 9 month certification. You can start at the beginning with Introduction to Shamanic Journey: 3Worlds. You will meet your Spirit Teachers and learn to access their wisdom and healing power for yourself.  Then follow with Shamanic Animal Communication, where you will learn the simple and profound art of communicating directly with animals through the shamanic journey. We welcome you to join the classes starting in August. Maybe you will want to follow your dream and learn the full program too!

Join my free intro class on Wed August 10, and see if shamanism is right for you! And have look at the upcoming schedule on the calendar page. We have a wonderful word awaiting us.

Dear Carla: Shamanism or Animal Communication?

06/20/2011

 Dear Carla:
In my animal communication class I’ve chosen to use drums and journeying to connect with animals, like you taught me.  For AC fieldwork, today I journeyed to communicate with a gorilla.  She told me I had an entity blocking me from being with her, and that she would clear it.  She worked on me and she showed me how to clear it and said, “soon”.  SO:  this is shamanism, not simple animal communication, right?  Or is animal communication shamanic?   TA

Hi TA- That is very cool! I see telepathic AC as a shelf the library of shamanism. I really beleive shamanism is a methodology for accessing ALL that is, and I see telepathic communication as a more narrow form of shamanic pracitice.

In my life I am trying to allow myself to open the spirits kindness and messages in an ongoing way. I am making a pracitice of shifting my focus so that I see the NOR side of things as much as possible, as I am walking in my daily OR world. Like our seeing the Faeries in the trees last week, we know that the spirits are here ALL THE TIME and that our connecting to them is a choice ALL THE TIME. So really – all the intuitive and energy work we do is shamanic in nature. What sets our training apart is  that we learn to connect with compassionate intelligent beings who love us, and we defer to them: we allow them to be leaders in our communication work, our healing work, and in our quest for new knowledge.

Blessings and power on your path!  Carla

Orlando Hands on Healing was a WOW!

11/30/2010

Bolshoi

Christen

Christin

Jo Maldonado of CAT in Orlando recently hosted me for a very special weekend.

We began on Friday with a healing ceremony for the CARE foundation, a wild animal sanctuary. My plan was to have the circle do power animal retrievals for the residents, but when I did my “prejourney” I learned that an important resident cat wanted us to do things differently. He wanted to be the shaman, bringing through healing power to the land and to the woman who is in charge, Christin. When I arrived Friday I met him – Bolshoi the Tiger – CAREs longest standing big cat resident. Fabulous!

Our journeys combined my intention and his. Each person in the circle communicated with a resident animal, connected that animal to his or her spirit tribe, and then asked the animal and the tribe to bring healing through to the land and to Christin. She said it was incredibly beautiful, uplifting and healing. I was amazed because we were up against some tough conditions -  there was a TRACTOR PULL going full volume right next door. The drum drowned it out, and we did great work!

Orlando Spiral

Orlando Spiral

The Hands on Healing workshop on Sat and Sunday was extra special. The location had art, water, nature and gentle spirits everywhere. We set up a triple spiral using Spanish moss and set shields in the centers to hold the power. The ancient spirits who make this all possible came in great force, including the Mongolians. Everyone has a story to tell – we had lots of powerful personal healing.

We learned to use our hands for healing, combining shamanic techniques with energy healing and light touch. It was an interwoven process of journey visioning, merging with our spirit teachers, and connecting it all to our partner using our hands. We learned to bring it through our drums and rattle for a bang-up powerful transfiguration. It was so much fun!

Making shields of the spirits has become an integral part of this process. First we journey to the spirits who have come to join us, and ask to see if someone wants guide our hands as we create them. Then we play! And when are done we journey into the shields to see what the source of their power really is. All of it is amazingly fun and creative. The shields bring the Spirits into form, and they are very sacred. My sacred working space in my home is a gallery of them now. So sweet, so juicy!

The Spirits who empower these workshops are ancient and strong. They may well be the “ancestors” that people are referring to lately, as we approach the end of the Mayan calendar etc, etc. I don’t know, but I do know that I always get profound initiations when I participate in the ceremony, and that people get “miracle level” healings. I just have to keep doing it, keep hosting ceremony, keep dancing and keep working!  Next post I will share with you a journey that Mary Carter had recently. She did the Hands on Healing and Spiral work in Albany this summer, and she is now being visited by these Big Spirits and getting some Big Teachings!

Throughout the workshop we were blessed with a huge flock of crows and other black birds who sang songs to use through the weekend, and protected our space. And when we were done, they floated away. Farewell dear friends!

Jo’s husband, Henry made a video of parts of the workshop. I am looking forward to seeing is as soon as he is done editing. Meanwhile, here is a slide show of the pictures we took. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2087031&id=1075897078&l=24b124147f

Buffalo Circle

11/08/2010

We had our Monday night Circle tonight, and it was really something wonderful. Our intention was to first see ourselves as a web, a cohesive circle, and then to learn how each of us could develop our own web of spirit in our communities. Buffalo tribe came in to guide us. The circle has requested that I create a space for each of us to write out stories, as the journeys were powerful for us collectively and individually. I invite you to review the comments. CLICK THE LITTLE TALK BOX on the upper right corner of this post to leave a comment, and to read the comments that have been left.

Blue Spirit of Creation

09/03/2010

I’ve been working with this Spirit since I met him at the Albany Workshop. He was brought in by a man who had very little experience journeying – no matter, he has connections!  We began the weekend by meeting new Spirits who would be our guides and teachers for the weekend. We made shields to honoring them, and to be portals their power.  We set the shields on the perimeter of the spiral. Through the weekend we met the spirits and danced with them. I love the dance – allowing each compassionate being to merge and move with me. I journey with them while I am dancing.

In Albany this Blue Spirit really grabbed me, and we danced for a long time. Since then I have been connecting with this Spirit to bring healing power in for clients, and he is bringing in big juice! It is fresh power that is formless and big, with a sense of calmness and beauty that radiates love. This, my dears, blows me away!!

Some of you have seen the swirling soft blue and white light that comes in when we ask the Spirits to impart healing power. This image comes up a lot in our circles. This Spirit it feels like the source of the power, like a force of creation itself. The Spirit imparts healing with blue light, often with white swirls.

I have found this Spirit in a lot of places. Ask your Power Animal or Teacher to introduce you. I most recently met this spirit on the other side of the Crystal Cat Palace in the upper world. I have always wondered what what on the other side of that portal place, but I never went to look! The power there is incredible.

Really – you must come do this powerful work with us live! We will be making shields in Chicago on Friday (that day is free!) and then working with them all weekend as we learn hands on healing techniques. We have 3 more slots left. Sign up today!

Albany NY Spiral Retreat

08/24/2010
The Spiral's Lights at Night

The spirals lighted at night

The Albany Gang

Count the Orbs at the Bumble Bee Retreat!

Amazing Orbs at the Bumblebee Spiral Retreat

The Albany Spiral Retreat was fantastic. We set up a triple spiral on Ginny’s wonderful lawn and welcomed layers of Spirits. The first day we made shields Spirits who were there for us,emblems that that projected their Power. Then we journey to the source of those shields and received deep personal healing. That night we danced the Spirits in the Spiral, as the healing went deep into our bones.

Saturday we did Spiral in Time. Working on behalf of each other we reached back into our ancestry to find the stories of the unhealed wounds that were passed on to us in our bones. We healed the stories for each other and completed the Transfiguration in the spiral. What a spectacular day!
Sunday we learned a powerful form of shamanic hands-on healing and compared it to more typical energetic healing touch. What a difference the Spirits make! I am teaching this technique in my weekend Shamanic Hands-On Healing workshops in Chicago and Orlando this fall.

My live workshops emphasize shamanic techniques that compliment what we learn teleclasses. Working live we can completely experience our bodies as the physical bridge for the Spirit’s healing power.

You might consider this to be quite advanced, but interestingly, each of the last two Spiral Retreats had one or two people with little shamanic journeying experience. They had delightful experiences and did phenomenal healing work.

I trust the Spirits to bring the right people to these workshops, and I trust the Spirits to support us so that each person gets exactly what they need and everyone has a great time. So if you are wondering if you are qualified for these workshops, you probably are. It’s best if you learn to journey first, but that is easy to do through ASN or CAT.

Summer Fun!

08/24/2010

Golly what a summer!

I started in North Carolina visiting Sue DeLamater, and training with Jim Masterson in The Masterson Method of Equine Performance Bodywork. I committed to doing the full certification program – all 40 case studies and 7 more days of training, and then prayed I could pull it off! After the workshop I visited dear friends and family, and as my nephews scrambled up the side of a mountain in the Smokies, I sat and journeyed into a gorgeous waterfall.

When I got home I began the case studies. Ladies and gentlemen, bring me your horses.

First of July Dad and I did the Wild West Tour. I started in Glacier with Matt. Fun! Then I dropped him at the Bozeman airport and picked up my Dad for a 2 week wildflower tour. We worked our way  through Wyoming, hitting the swinging hot spots of Yellowstone of course!  I got to see my nephews in a camp rodeo in Dubois WY. These kids are from Michigan and it was so fun to see them swaggering and roping. Then Dad and I wiggled down through Colorado’s mountain towns, and landed for a day of fishing on the San Juan river. That 87 year old man fished for 11 hours straight sitting on a boat in the hot sun. I was cooked after 4 hours.

When we got home it was in the 100s, and a great time to do 20+ Masterson Method case studies. I finally figured out how to efficiently write up each one’s 3 pages of painstaking detail – Dragon Naturally Speaking. I was actually taking my computer into the horse’s stalls and dictating as I went. (Oh look, a yummy keyboard!)I set my goal to have all 40 done by mid August, so that I could attend the final round of training in early September.

Then my summer highlight – The Spiral Retreat in Albany NY. Oh how wonderful that was. Words can’t describe the fabulous feeling of being loved and healed by so many spirits at once. I even got to work on 7 more horses there! Knock em dead, Carla, 12 to go.

Upon return I finished them! Complete with a great video shot by none other than the famous Diana Lamb! Look to utube soon for a short edit.

And then Dad and I took a week in the White Mountains of Arizona in little town called Greer. It was peak boletus season and I mushroomed and hiked while Dad fished. On the last day I hiked 14 miles – and climbed 2000 feet. How I am not sure, but I did and it was wonderful.

Now I am wrapping up my new website equinebodyfreedom.com. And I am revising the ASN courses to incorporate so many things I have learned since I developed them 3 years ago. Please – if you haven’t taken a shamanic teleclass give it a try. We have such strong connection with spirit and so much fun.

I have developed a new live class, Hands on Healing. The first offering is in Chicago in September through ASN. It will be intimate and wonderful, as the workshops in Chicago always are. I love my friends there so much!

Last spring we launched a live program for The Center for Animal Therapies in Orlando, and I will be returning there in November to teach Hands on Healing.

As I type this it amazes me what we people can do in a short time. Corporate-types know this, what with their busy schedules and deadlines all the time. But as a solo-type I sometimes forget what we can accomplish if we dig in and git er done. Yee Haw!

Journeying Check Lists

03/09/2010

My students often ask me if they are “Doing it Right”  when they are learning a new healing technique. Shamanism, like anything, has steps and protocol. Following the the steps is important for getting into connection with compassionate spirits. In my training I will give you detailed checklists for each little thing we learn to do. However, the secret is that you don’t have to follow them to be successful. All you have to do is hold intention, turn it over to the Spirits and be the best healing bridge you can be. This is because in shamanism we are not the airplane pilot – our compassionate Spirit Allies are. We ask for a ride with a specific intention, and the Spirits fly the plane.

That being said, I do love checklists, and I offer you one here that you should try to use with every healing journey “flight”. Consider it like Take off, Flight, and Landing:

1) diagnosis/extraction/transmutation
2) power infusion  (healing power infusion, soul retrieval, PA retrieval, etc)
3) sealing in and support for ongoing integration

The trick here is that you can use this checklist without knowing how to fly. I teach people to set the stage for healing by working with their Spirits to create a sacred healing space in NOR. And then we bring our clients into this space, and ask our Spirit Allies to do the healing. We are witnesses. We hold the intention for the work to be done, and we observe it being done. We keep track of were we are in the process. Is it step 1, 2, or 3?. This is like being a passenger in the plane, watching the map on video screen in the seat back in front of you.

So if you are learning to do healing work, and you ask yourself “Am I doing this right?” The answer is yes if you are holding the intention for the healing, and letting the spirits do the work. Your job is stand witness and follow along. Each journey will be different. Each one will be perfect. Mostly they will follow the 1,2 3 sequence, but even when they don’t the Spirits know what they are doing and the work will be good.

Trust your Spirits to pilot you well. As you do, you too will learn to fly. In my flight school you will get  a more detailed checklist to follow for each step, 0that will keep you on track and safe.

Spirals: energetic healing’s unified field theory

01/16/2010

Spirals are ancient images and I believe they are the image of creation. That power, that motion is the force that brings us life itself, and all our renewal. It is the earth’s magnetic field. It is the shape of DNA. It is the pattern of organic growth. It is the unfolding of the universe from a birth star. So many healers use them in vortexes and many other forms; these spirals are universal, and they must come from the same concept and source. Spiral work is the closest thing we have to a unified field theory in energetic/spiritual healing.

Many times when I do a basic shamanic healing for a client the spirits use spirals in simple, but distinct and consistent ways. There are certain patterns and colors the spirits use, such as tornado vortexes that look like snow, and spiraling streams of blue light. I have not shared these images with my students as teachings. The only people who know what I am doing are my clients who have experienced the work. (I speak everything out loud so people know what is happening in non ordinary reality while I work.) I am currently teaching a level 2 class in shamanic healing, and in the first session we were asking the spirits to show each person a simple healing so that they would have some initial ideas about the work that is to come. One student was shown the same spiral techniques the spirits use in my sessions – right down to the colors. We shamanic healers are blessed to be the conduits of the spirits wisdom and power. I love that we have cohesive experiences, without any prompting. We just sit in the same circle, ordinary and non ordinary.

I am hoping to see a website built to showcase all our experiences with spirals in shamanic healing. I won’t be creating it, but I think I know who will :-) More to come….

Spiral Riding – a sweet connection

12/11/2009

Spiral Riding: Healing co-created conditions

All of us in close relationships have mirrored conditions. Human/dog, mother/child, people/people, dog/dog: you name it, if there is a close bond there is overlapping energy and its manifestations. I call these co-created conditions, and my mission is to find shamanic ways to heal them. My teachers have just given me some new Spiral Magic to use to heal them.

I have been very intent on improving my riding, and it has been hard. Old habits are difficult to change. I know that we are mirrors to our horses. Where we are stiff so are they, and it is our job to induce the change to softness. Lyra came to me to teach me and she is one stiff pony. To help her and me, I did a variation on the Spiral Ceremony. It felt very powerful as I was doing it, but the proof came the next day. She was soft as butter! When I rode her my Teacher instructed me to merge with the spiral again. All the stiffness melted away! She became round and happy, reaching into the bit, lifting her back, and floating in all her gaits. Just like that.

Now to repeat it with consistency. Yah sure you betcha.

I am teaching this technique, and many other Spiral Medicine techniques, in my workshops this spring. See the calendar page for details.

Telecall Journey Circle

11/19/2009

Wouldn’t it be great to have a circle over the phone where we simply get together to journey and support each other on the path of shamanic learning? Let’s do it! Please join us on the second Monday of each month for an 1 to 1.5 hour call were we will commune with friends, journey to the spirits, and celebrate our connection. The call will meet at 6:30 Mountain time. The format will be:

  • Open circle by calling in the spirits
  • Do a quick introduction and check in around the circle
  • Journey on a topic as a group (or if an individual person prefers he/she may use the time for a personal journey)
  • Share the journeys we did (for those who choose to share). We may break into smaller groups to do this if the circle is large.
  • Close circle

This is a chance to journey in a powerful, supportive circle. The circle of spirits helps keep us focused and gives juice to the experience. Please joins us, and please tell your friends about it!

The calls are on the SECOND MONDAY of each month. We are asking a $5.00 fee per call, however, if that is out of your budget you may join the call for free. (I realize that in hard times some of us are having a trouble scraping together even that little bit of cash!) You will have to pay for the call to the bridge line. To join the next call, click the link below to Pay Pal. After you pay you will be given an auto responder email with phone numbers and logistic for the next call. If you want to join and can’t pay, email carla@spirithealer.com and we will send you the logistics letter.
Click here to register for the next call.

End of life perspective

11/01/2009

I just talked with a cat who died last week. This cat said that the body is amazingly tenacious. She was commenting on the pain and suffering that we so often have to go through at the end. She said, “Well what do you expect? To have a body that will stay strong through all of the attacks and tempests life brings means that it will be strong in trying to stay alive at the end. It is the price we pay. Fortunately after you finally die it is easy to forget the pain and just relax again. EVERYONE has to go through it. It is part of the deal of being born. Oh well!”

She never expected euthanasia and couldn’t imagine blaming her person for not having a Doc at hand at 3:00 AM.

She was pretty philosophical. Her last hours were rough, according to her person. It was an interesting lesson!

Overcoming the I Cant’s when you are learning to journey

11/01/2009

If you are having trouble getting started in your shamanic journey work because your mind wanders, or you have thoughts that you can’t do the work – here is something to try:

Set up a basket, jar or container in your room, and you put all your reservations and disbelief into it before you begin journeying. You can get it back later when you are done, or you can ask the spirits to transfigure them. Sometimes our I can’ts come from a belief system that is in conflict with the work. The person might need to think it all through and find a common ground, but the belief system is really so subliminal that it is hard to put a finger on it. So this basket method can help, because you may really WANT to take the things back and work with them later. I have met many beginning students who feel that their catholic upbringing sets them at odds with shamanic practice, and they struggle to get started because of these inner conflicts. But there is a Sister in Flagstaff who teaches shamanism from a catholic perspective, and it is fabulous work. So maybe we just need to set aside our I can’ts and belief systems, and just concentrate on phenomena, and let the thinking part come later.

Connected Riding

10/25/2009

Jark, Lyra and I are spending 4 days with Peggy Cummings. She is the founder of Connected Riding and is revolutionary in her understanding of body posture and holding patterns in horses and people. We are learning how the way we hold ourselves is reflected by our horses. Their stiffness is ours, and visa versa. We are also learning about the importance of the reciprocal flow of energy through the body, and how the most commonly taught horse handling techniques and riding postures set the horse up for stiffness. The first thing we had to do was release our own holding patterns, and  that really brought up some old emotional stuff! So I journeyed that night and ask the spirits to extract and transmute the junk that was resisting the release. I was wondering if they would do something with the spiral, or perhaps a dismemberment. They did something much more simple! They took me  back to one of my very first landing places in the lower world, a bubbling hot spring. The first year I was learning shamanism I would get up tight about not being able to do the work, or not getting it right (sound familiar?) The spirits told me to go sit in the tub and talk with the animals there. This time is was extra welcoming, and it washed out the tension and filled me with bubbly love. Yummy!

I am traveling with an amazing woman, Jaclyn Strahan, who is a master body worker for horses. She has a healing practice in southern Michigan, and is establishing a second base in Arizona. She too had red arrows pointing to deep pools of unresolved emotions as she did the posture exercises. So she journeyed to a golden waterfall and simply sat there for 10 minutes getting cleansing and power. It helped her a lot.

This is a pretty simple thing to do and takes almost no shamanic training. You can do it for yourself easily. Just journey and ask your power animals to take you to a sacred place in nature. Ask the spirits of that place to release your stress and pain and fill you with renewal. Just be there and let the spirits do the work.

I highly recommend Peggy. I rode with her in clinics pretty regularly in Oregon, but I haven’t seen her in 8 years. I won’t let that time elapse again! Jark was happy to see her too (she helped me start him) , and Lyra Love has a new way of walking now.

Jacy and I will be building a community in Arizona of horse people who are seeking new ways to connect with horses. I will be teaching shamanic work, Jacy body work, and Barbara Owens (a TTEAM and Connected Riding Instructor) will come in regularly to teach Connected Riding and Groundwork. Peggy will come periodically too once we have a base of people established.

We are very excited, and we hope you will join us!

Manta Ray

09/27/2009

manta_raymanta ray Today I danced with a young manta ray. She ( I suppose)  was feeding in the ‘Anaeho’omlu Bay in Waikoloa, Hawaii. I was snorkeling in about 15 feet of water, and she swept up under me with the grace of an angel with four foot wings. I watched her float about for a few minutes, and then we went our separate ways. Next I swam over green turtles, one very large. The light filtering through the water makes their necks shimmer like golden jewelry. This bay has diverse healthy coral and a quiet surface, even when the ocean is turbulent. Mornings are often windless, making conditions perfect for a long slow snorkeling expedition.

On my second trip out the waves had picked up and the water was somewhat murkier. After about 45 minutes I was heading back in when she came out of the cloud and smiled at me. Hi, sweetie! I stayed with her for at least 20 minutes, maybe half an hour. She somersaulted under me gathering plankton. She would rise up  close to me, then dip down again to  spin and glide. When I started moving my arms in time with her fins she loved it, and we danced. At one point I felt I needed to leave because I was getting cold, and she came up under me more closely and drew me back. What the heck! I may never have this dance again. So we swept through the reef in a dreamy glide. Finally it was time to say goodbye. I thanked her for the love and she flipped a fin and vanished into the murky white.

Later when I journeyed to her she told me about the most dangerous things she faces. First on the list – SHARKS! What a surprise. Second? Fishing lines and hooks – she told me to stay away from boats. And third? Big rough seas with waves that roll and tumble and lots of spinning debris. “Go deep” was her recommendation.  She is a cautious fish.  I sure hope she will be there tomorrow. Now I wish I had brought my underwater camera.

There are certain finned fish I love the most –  peacock groupers and jaw fish are in the top tier. I haven’t seen a jaw fish since my last dive in Bonaire, and it is unlikely I will again now that I am confined to the surface. The bends have made it too dangerous to dive and I sold my gear. The reality of this fact has given me deeper appreciation for the fish I do see. What if snorkeling becomes kapu too? Each breath is a miracle. Each fin kick a blessing.

I chatted with another fish lover who has dove and snorkeled the world. We agreed that this is world class. “This is just as good as diving, even better!” he said. While not quite true, it was the voice of the spirits telling me to stop regretting. Leave the deep behind. Love the one you’re with.  He pointed out the places where I was likely to find octopus, and I told him where the Manta Ray is. After my warming break,  I followed the path he recommended along the northern arc of the bay, and then back for that long dance with the Manta Ray.

I saw quite a few peacock groupers today, and dozens of other fish who are also my favorites. Truth is that if I were to stack up the fish into a pyramid with the favorites at the top, the pyramid would be inverted, with the multitude swimming around in the top layer. Today that layer was crowded with friends. Of course the unique ones are the most special any trip, and today it was the manta ray.  What delight – anyone want to hear the list? A huge spotted crab, octopus, several eels, 4 different puffers and burr fish, peacock toby, flounder, moorish idols, all the butterflies, so many wrass, blennies (so cute with their eye lashes), jacks, sergeant majors… why am even trying to spell this all out? What makes me wants to classify and catalog like a pseudo naturalist? Why do I remember the Latin names of so many mushrooms? This is worth a journey to understand.
