Ike visits Mom- after his passing

Hi Carla,
A short add-on to the Ike story—little terrier from shelter you did a sesson on…

A few weeks ago I was doing dishes and suddenly felt for the first time Ike—all around me…unmistakeable! Happy to feel his presence and started sending him lots of love. Then wondered if it was a good bye–that maybe he was free of his body and leaving–

That night was just between waking and sleep and suddenly saw a road—and on the road Ike in his old body was walking. The area was beautiful–green, lots of trees, meadows and this dirt road led to a fence–a big wooden gate and two bright beings—standing at the gate. They smiled at Ike and he seemed to recognize them. As he ran to them his body shifted into a puppy body so he had all this vitality. He was so excited and happy–running toward this gate. He looked back at me with a wonderful and happy expression one last time. Then he went through the gate—the brilliant beings smiled and waved at me and closed the gate—they started playing with Ike and and they walked up the road out of site. He seemed so happy to be with them.

Just wanted to share this with you–since I am out of touch with his physical owners I’ll never know what happened. This was so tangible and sudden. Thought to share it with you. Thank you again for the wonderful work you and your healing spirits did with him and also bringing the guide—the red winged blackbird that has become a strong presence in journeys here.

Likely Stories and energetic healing

Each person who does Spiritual and energetic connecting and healing has a way of thinking about the work. These likely stories allow them to makes sense of the work in their own minds, and  explain the work to others. Some of these likely stories overlap. But they really can’t be force fitted into any paradigm of rules with any exactitude. My likely story is different from a Reiki Masters, or a Flower Essence Practitioner, a “clairvoyant reader”, and so forth. We don’t need pseudo science to make our work believable. Results alone will serve.

My trust in the Spirits is my bedrock, and is pretty darn constant. But my likely story continues to unfold. It allows me to teach, to share healing work, and to explore new layers of the shamanic mysteries. But it remains just that – a poem that is rewritten everyday – with each new journey, with each new connection, with each rising sun.

As a Shaman, I do what I do and it is powerful and it helps many animals and many people. I trust my Spiritual team to be there for my customers. And they are.  The spirits I work with are comprehensive and they work with every possible aspect of an issue – but they do this on a Spiritual level. So they information I convey is metaphorical – yet it reaches right into the core. The healing power is direct and immediate. I will leave you with one or more Compassionate Spirits connected to you and your animal. They will  help guide you to the next steps.  These steps can be all sorts of things: diet, activity, attitude, energetic and/or allopathic medicine. We will ask them to make the path easy for you to see and follow. How they do this is unique to each person. Just like our likely stories that we use to explain this fabulous phenomena.

Chip – Healing Clinic Case by Cheryl Kwalleck

Thank you so much for your work with Chip. It was very interesting and it did sound like you made a good ‘connection’ with him. While I haven’t noticed a significant difference in what I’m calling ‘congestion’ (basing it on my being able to HEAR him breathing) I have been monitoring his lung function via Kinesiology (muscle testing) and that DID improve quite a bit after your session. (From 67% prior, to 92% now :-) .)

Request/Concern:  Chip’s owner was concerned about congestion and breathing problems.

Shamanic Healing:  My teacher and other spirits performed an extraction around the chest and throat area. Small, black, buggy objects appeared during the extraction and were thrown in the nearby river. I was told to blow in his ears, which I did. The same objects appeared from his ears which were thrown in the river.  I got the impression there was some sort of dark energy involved with Chip’s problem. My teacher and I then left Chip at the fire with the other spirits and went to a cave in search of a gift for Chip. We found lavender which is supposed to be used in his bed. I was also told his power animal is crow, his owner’s power animal is horse. We then went on a spirit canoe with Chip. On the way back Chip was told that the purpose of this trip was to help him find his courage. The wind was at his back,  which made sense since they had gone through Hurricane Irene a couple days earlier. We got back to the council fire and the group of spirits took turns holding Chip, passing him around the circle. When the last spirit held him, they all raised their hands, holding Chip up to the sun. They then put him on the ground and stroked his body with their hands, as if they were pushing something out of his body. I heard big dog, little dog,” throughout the journey,  and was told that Chip needs to sing.

 Feedback: Thank you so much for your work with Chip.  It was very interesting and it did sound like you made a good ‘connection’ with him.  While I haven’t noticed a significant difference in what I’m calling ‘congestion’ (basing it on my being able to HEAR him breathing) I have been monitoring his lung function via Kinesiology (muscle testing) and that DID improve quite a bit after your session.  (From 67% prior, to 92% now  :-) .)   While I have been able to get it in the 90+% range repeatedly,  I can’t get it to ‘stick’.    The ‘dark energy’ could well be the cause.  I thought I had addressed it by ‘setting the intent’ that I make my ‘proxy connections’ with clients outside of my home and furthered by asking Archangel Michael to further guard against client energy entering the property.  (I think I mentioned during the session that an AC had previously told me Chip was bothered by client energy, which is why I set the above intent.)  Perhaps another session from the AC is in order to see if that is where it was coming from or if maybe my ‘intent’ isn’t working and I need to do something else.

I don’t think he found his courage,  as I was building some jumps yesterday and the pounding made him nervous  :-( , but he has been eating really well since you worked with him.  He did some singing when I came home from the store yesterday and I thought of you.  : )

I did make note of the Lavender pillow, and should be able to track that down by the end of the week.

Are you skeptical about the Spirits?

As for being a skeptic – the phenomena we experience simply is. We may be able to “create our reality” in so far as we can encourage the world to mirror our dreams, but we exist in an energetic framework that is bigger than us and bigger than our ability to perceive. It would be ridiculous for lay people to expect their personal experience to prove or disprove quantum physics.

The spiritual phenomena we are talking about with shamanism simply is, regardless of our perceptions. We don’t create the spirits. We can, however, invite them and involve them in our lives.

And your involvement with Spirits doesn’t require another person to validate it. Nor do you need to feel some sort of attraction to others with awakened senses. I often will simply leave the presence of others who have awakened senses, and with whom I do not feel simpatico. This is actually pretty common – shamanic practitioners are often solo pilots because each of us has a direct connection to spirit and that individual relationship defines our deeply seated philosophies.

Ancestor Spirit visits Mary

Mary recently shared this journey with me. She wasn’t expecting this. She was just doing a journey dontcha know, when she got a major visitation! Has this been happening to you too? The Ancestors are returning and we are all be blessed!

Dear Carla,

I told you I would write about my journey from last night, I now have two journeys.

I went to my circle and started with gratitude and thanking all that assisted in the healing journey you did with Krissy.
I then asked for wisdom, guidance and love.
In came a semi-circle of men who looked very ancient, each was dressed differently but their faces seemed the same but
they were not clear.  I asked where they were from and they said Council of Elders.  I heard Mongolia and wondered,
is that near Siberia and had a feeling it was.
They said they walked before us and were here to guide us.  They then went thru much advice for me in my daily life.
It was very simple and practical.  This is the first time I met with them.

Tonight I was compelled to journey again.  I gathered my power animals around me and again went into gratitude for
all the teachers, angels, guides, masters, etc who guide me and love me and care for me moment to moment.

I then asked for wisdom and guidance.  Wow, a big power came who was dressed in very rich, ancient clothing.  He had
a ornate band of fabric around his forehead and on his head, can’t really describe it.  He seemed to have the same ethnic
look as the night before and there were other beings around him dressed more modestly.  He spoke to me and said
they walked before us and were here to guide us as we have requested and it has been written.
He then started to rise up and I was trying to follow him and suddenly he said, “I pour the blood of the universe into you,
drink it and fill your body with it, it is the Holy Blood, feel your body get heavy as it fills you and fills every cell.  I did feel very heavy
indeed.  I then saw what looked like small worms moving around inside me and he said, yes, they are like worms, they are
eating all that needs to go.  I then felt lighter.
He started to come back down and I noticed a ring of fire around the circle and then more rings continued from that, they were
moving in opposite directions to each other.  He told me to follow him and the fire parted and we walked into a path between
circles of fire.  It reminded me of the spiral.  As we got closer to the center I could see it looking like a black hole but with light.
He felt my fear of falling in and said, no we won’t fall in.  Then we walked away from it.
He had me stand over a flame and I felt as if I was open with no body and the flame came up to my heart.  He told me to
let the flame light my heart.  He said it’s not a burning flame, it’s a soul flame.
It really felt good.
He gave me lessons on humanity and I saw a vision which reminded me of hell with throngs of people crushing each other trying to
go up and get out.  He said that is what humanity has become, we have forgotten, we only want to care for ourselves and crush
everyone else on the way.
He said they are here to guide us.
He then put a purple robe with hood on me, had me go down to ground with head on ground.  It felt like he was brushing my head with
feathers, something light, then down my back.
I then went into something very deep and started to see different women’s faces keep changing.
I then came conscious again and he said again he was filling me with the universal blood and I felt heavy.
He said humanity must learn to live in love of each other, to open our hearts.
He told me to stand in the soul flame and ignite my heart.
WOW, it was so good, it felt wonderful.  The visual was my heart was the point of the triangle
and there was no body attached below, it was wide open to the flame.
He said the end is the beginning and the beginning is the end.

I’m not sure what he meant.

WOW, that was pretty intense.

Tarpon! Crocodile! Manatee – well maybe not.

Today we went to Robbie’s, a rustic touristy conglomeration of watery activities and merchandise. We fed the tarpon. Everyone does. It costs $5 to buy a bucket of feeder fish and walk out onto the dock, where all the tarpon for 50 miles gather for free lunch. What a riot! I made friends with a special tarpon in Bonaire at a site called The Cliff. This fish stayed close to me, and when I was photoing jawfish on my last dive (and getting solidly bent) he came over to me and blew a large distinct bubble out of his gill. He said, “You don’t belong here” in a friendly way. So I was especially happy to have the chance to feed a mess of them and say thank you!

After that we rented a kayak and floated through a mangrove water trail. We saw a young female crocodile (the guide man who told us the route to follow said she was a she) sunning on a boat hull. And as promised we saw one young nurse shark in the shallows. We didn’t see the 5 manatees who live in this grove, and we were indeed disappointed. But swarms of snook, snappers, barracuda, snappers, parrotfish and who knows what else made up for it. So did the osprey flying before us through the cut in the trees, and a diving bird who cruised with us for 15 minutes or so. One thing about Florida, it can be blustery. We worked our fannies off paddling – which we promptly replaced with pizza and cinnamon buns at a wonderful Italian coffee house in Ilsamadora.

Tomorrow we go home, via the Everglades and Ft. Lauderdale’s no doubt brutally windy beach.

Key West

What a neat old pirate and navy town Key West is, a small grid of narrow streets with thin wooden buildings with railed balconies. The theme is drinking, bar after bar salted with plenty of old drunks to make them feel alive. In between are the ubiquitous t-shirt and trinket stores, art galleries and ice cream shops that signify tourist traps. Old Spanish wrecks lie off shore, and adventuresome scuba divers with money can become members of the single company that has the salvage rights. This firm has recovered hundreds of millions in gold, silver pieces of eight, emeralds and artifacts and has hopes for even more. Going through their maritime museum is really fun, and I did spend an evening dreaming of diving for treasure. But according to their prospectus my income level doesn’t qualify me to invest, a blessing in disguise to save me from pirates. We did find culinary treasure at the south end of Duval street in a little French restaurant. Their blackened tuna salad is perfection on a plate, just delicious. Also not to miss, the Butterfly Conservatory. We were completely enchanted by the beauty in every detail of this place. Hundreds of butterflies along with assorted small birds flitting through a forest of perfect house plants and small trees accompanied by a babbling brook complete with fish and turtles, all squeezed into a 1500 square feet (maybe) glass conservatory. Splendid!

A Spiritual Intervention that helped my father

This year (2008) I am offering a new workshop using a spiral as the nexus for entering very strong power. The workshop is called Sacred Animal Masks, and you can read all about it by clicking on its page on the right. It is the next generation of the workshop I did last year called Healing in the Spiral of Time.

Monday I was rehearsing it with my workshop partner, Sue DeLamater, and one of my advanced students, Lois. We are doing the workshop at Sue’s place of employ, Free Arts AZ. http://www.freeartsaz.org/
We had just linked the spiral to many other sacred places on earth, and had called in the 4 directions in this valley and their power. We were located at Central and C-Back, the center of the valley. Perfect! We walked the spiral and build a cairn in the middle with stones connected to the other power spots. Then we took a tea break and the phone rang. It was my father gasping. No blood pressure. Voice so weak all he could say was “I’m really sick”. He is a heart patient. I went into the circle and asked that power to go to him and sit on him. I saw the brilliant white center of the spiral go over him. Took 3-5 seconds. Then I called 911 and that took 3 minutes. Then I called him back to say the ambulance was on the way, and he said, “Oh I feel much better now! The neighbors will be concerned about the emergency trucks.” (as if to say, “do I really need them?”.) He told me later that he felt a wave come over him, and all of a sudden he felt almost well again!

The ambulance did come, and he went into the hospital for many tests. They found nothing significant wrong with him.

The spiral is so incredibly powerful once the power has been called in in a sacred way. Thank you spirits!

Shamanic Exploration

carla personShamanism is as old as mankind. It is a way of walking, hearing, seeing and being that connects us to the world beneath the world, the spirit that is inside, outside, enmeshed in and parallel to the ordinary world we perceive every day.

We begin a shamanic path by studying the ancient pathways that connect the worlds and teach us to work with spirit. Thanks to Micheal Harner and the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, these old worn paths, overgrown by modern culture, are being steadily cleared. Every day they grow more visible to us and are now fairly easy to follow.

Modern shamanic teachers take people first along the wide and clearly marked paths to teach them to journey. Think of the first few miles of a major trail right after the tail head. It is like a super highway and is populated by people of all types. Further into the forest the trails diverge and become less traveled, more rugged, and more adventuresome. Today’s shamanic teachers have cleared these paths for you into the specific areas of their interest: Celtic Shamanism, Shape Shifting, White Table, Animal Healing, Soul Retrieval, and so many more fascinating arenas.

I have opened paths that are about healing our Animal Partners (dogs, cats, horses etc) using shamanic methods. In my trainings I apply common shamanic techniques to animal clients. But I do so in a way that is unique to the trails I have uncovered. Over the course of 10 years of concentrated journey work and attention I have been taught a way of working shamanically that is very powerful, and is especially beneficial for working with animals and their people. I teach this method through telelclasses with the Animal Spirit Network, and through workshops worldwide and private trainings.

I am not sure exactly what cultural traditions I am following when I do my work. I am not much of a scholar. I am an explorer. I ask the spirits to show me how to achieve big results. I ask them to explain the cosmology of the world to me empirically: through shamanic journey experiences, results in my clients, and parallel experiences in my students. The results are profound for me and for my students. (By the way I enjoy taking workshops and connecting with other shamanic teachers. It is so exciting to learn the paths they have been shown, and to see if and how they overlap with the ones I am following.)

Spirals and the Nexus of Creation: At the center of the spiral is a place of brilliance. The place of creation itself. A client in that spiral can experience a transfiguration that explodes away the old and rebirths in pure divinity. The secret is in the preparation and the ceremony. I have two workshops that explore this : Healing in the Spiral of Time and Sacred Animal Masks. Sacred Animal Masks is offered in Phoenix and Chicago Spring 2008.

The Power of Ecosystems: This started with my desire to communicate with reef life (all the critters, not just whales and dolphins). Communicating with reef life opened up a new revelation for me in the power of using ecosystems as healers for clients and for the earth herself. As a result I see the earth totally differently today than I did even a year ago. I am currently exploring ecosystem work with my advanced private students. I will be birthing it in a week long workshop on private Caribbean sailing boat cruise in 2009. (Yes, we will swim with Dophins!)

Animal Tribes: Domestic Animals are very dependent upon their connection to their spirit tribes. The spirits tribes facilitate the death and dying process. They bring super powerful healing power. They give the animal a point of reference in the world. They hold any soul parts that were not fully committed to the body at birth. The tribal stories are the animal’s mythology, critical to the animal’s self concept. I am forever exploring these tribal connections and teaching about them in my trainings. There is more to this story too (there always is). Our power is a function of our connection to our tribes. Our tribes are our loved ones here on earth, our ancestors, spirit family, power animals and their tribes.
