I love using the Card Deck of the Sidhe (Lorian Press) as a language to communicate with the compassionate Sidhe Spirits who help me in my life. Lately I have been getting very clear with myself that I need to step up my game in life, change some old habits and embrace some fresh energy. I need to set goals and work toward them in an inspired way. I need to manage my time and focus my attention on what I choose to accomplish.

Being that I am of a certain age, with well worn habits, this is not especially easy. At 20 it was simple. Now, not so much. I reached for my cards to get some help. I always start a layout with the center, asking for a card that shows the subject and current condition. That's me in the center, taking flight to reach new goals. GREAT! My next card was the North - the light radiating in to give me inspiration. Next was East, the opening of balance, between the Sidhe and my own blood, entering the space of partnership. And in the South then my own sovereignty. The lion and sword. This is looking good! But I left the west for last. My question was, "What I am I leaving behind me? How do I do this?"   And before I drew it I knew it would be this card. The Phoenix Towering Stone -  we will transmute your old habits here!

The last card I drew was the Sidhe Glyph Pendant. This card gets laid on the center, to show what I will become as this cycle completes. Perfection!

Asking Spirits how to work with this layout, I heard, "Write down your habit on a small paper and place it under the fire. Then go do the new thing you are choosing instead. Just GO DO IT!"

I wrote on the paper "compulsion to do non-useful thing first, before starting on the important thing" (and thus wasting a lot of time).

This blog post is the very first thing I am doing after writing that old sloppy habit on that paper and setting it under the fire. I feel better!!!

I love this deck and the way I can use it to freely communicate with the Spirits who help me. I highly recommend it.
